A native of Jamaica, Nico grew up with early exposure to reggae music and started playing records when he was 20 years old. That early spark fueled his desire to learn to mix and explore other genres and become a Party dj. Nico quickly became the perfect Dj for any party, spinning at night clubs all around New England and NY, from Rasputin’s (VT), Dino’s Bar (Ithaca NY) and Proof Night Club (NYC) to The Green Room (Plattsburgh, NY.)
Nico is known for his energetic and inventive mixes. He loves catching people off guard with unexpected hits. Nico specializes in meshing city and island influences; from hip-hop, rock, techno, top-40’s dancehall to reggae, soca and reggaeton. He always keeps the party rocking with slick beats and butter-smooth transitions! Nico decided to make the transition to a Wedding disc jockey after noticing the void of great music in various Vermont wedding venues.
DJ Rome got his start at age 13, when he found himself influenced by radio DJs such as Chubby CHubb, Jeff 2X and Clinton Sparks. He quickly discovered he had a knack for blending and scratching, which earned him the nickname “Tha Blend King.” In Boston, Rome was known for delivering remarkable quality for the right price. After graduating from St. Michael’s College in 2009 with a degree in Philosophy, DJ Rome took some time off from DJ-ing to focus on his education, but returned after 2 short years. He just couldn’t stay away. He explored Disc jockey jobs before he teamed up with Nico to form his own mobile DJ service.
DJ Rome’s professional experience ranges from club nights to university events and radio. Some of his credits include; Rumor (Boston), Club Venu (Boston), Club Tantra (Revere), The Blue Wave (Boston), The Manhattan Marriot, Club LIFT (Vermont), Boston University, North Eastern, The Strand Theatre, Saint Michael’s College, Club 103, and WWPV 88.7. Rome took some time to explore becoming a Disc jockey for weddings; he felt that he had transferable skills to embellish any special event.
